The Atlas statue in New York is a bronze sculpture located in front of Rockefeller Center. It is a depiction of the mythical Greek Titan Atlas holding the celestial sphere on his shoulders. The statue is 45 feet tall and weighs over 7 tons. It was created by Lee Lawrie and Rene Paul Chambellan in the Art Deco style and installed in 1937. The statue is a popular tourist attraction and symbol of New York City.
